The rugged sensors used in the GFE-SWR range makes them suitable for virtually all fire types. The detector utilizes a microprocessor for sophisticated signal analysis. The advanced discrimination technology and rugged construction allows them to be used for almost all project scenarios. The sensors must exceed their alarm threshold to initiate an alarm.

The UV/IR and IR3 uses an additional alarm criterion – the analysis of the flame flicker frequency. The UV/IR and IR3 detectors have good false alarm rejection. The UV detector is insensitive to all nuisance alarm sources except for arc welding. Typical applications for the three types can be found in the table in the manual (link below).
